Quarantine & Chill

Accra, I’m Done With This Quarantine!

This whole staying inside thing is not going well for me. Read to find out more about my misdoings. Feel free to laugh!

Y’all, I’m tired! Man taya! I don’t know what to do with my life at this point in time.

I played myself, thinking that being an introvert and homebody would mean peace and comfort, but it was all lies! LIES I TELL YOU! The idea of having to be in the house 24/7, knowing that you can’t go anywhere, is mad annoying!

The worst part is that I passed my drivers’ test and couldn’t get my license before the lock down was imposed. LORD WHY? I had plans to drive around, with my windows down, shades on and blasting some hardcore rap. DMX or something. I guess we can’t always get what we want. Sigh…

If you’re not in Ghana right now or haven’t been following the news, you may not know that we’ve been on a partial lock down since the 30th of March. I say partial because essential businesses are still operating like banks, supermarkets, and broadcasting networks and it’s only subject to a few regions (provinces/states) like Greater Accra. This was only 4 days ago. Why am I suffering like this 4 days in? I don’t know the answer to my question. Do you?

However, I can’t really complain much because I’ve done quite a lot so far. I made a mug cake, which is basically cake that is made in the microwave. It takes about 15 minutes, including putting the ingredients down, mixing them up and baking. If you’re not a confused goat like me, it’ll take you less than 10 minutes. It was really yummy and easy to make. Who doesn’t like easy, yummy food??

I also attempted to make the viral Dalgona Coffee. Let me tell you, I almost died! This Stranger in Accra almost died! Why? “Why?” You may ask? Let me tell you why.

Dalgona coffee is basically frothy coffee that you blend/whisk and place on milk. It’s basic coffee that looks pretty. Just coffee, milk, sugar and milk. How could I go wrong with that? Well, I did everything right. So right. I was so hyped, sent my friends Snapchat videos of how bomb the coffee was.The coffee was the ISH! I was the ISH! We were the dream team! Nobody could touch us!! But alas, pride comes before a fall… UGH!

Fun fact about me, I’m a very emotional being. When I’m happy, I’m super happy, like hyper and when I’m sad, I’m super sad, like depressed. There’s no in between. Before I made the coffee, I was already hyper. Nothing was stopping me. After I drank it, all was well. An hour later, crap hit the fan! Your girl was hyperventilating, sweating, could feel her heartbeat in her palms. It was bad. I thought I was having a heart attack. I felt like dying, throwing up and jumping into the ocean at the same darn time! Why is my life like this?

I went to fry some bacon, which was a bad idea because I couldn’t even hold the matchstick. I was shaking. My sibling was just watching me, doing nothing about it. Just watching. THANK YOU DEAR SIBLING!

After some time, I felt better and decided to workout. That was an epic fail! My limbs felt numb, Like I was under anesthesia but awake. I showered, drank some hot water, read a book and tried to sleep.

Please note, I said tried to sleep. It was a task and a half. My eyes couldn’t close. I felt tired, but my mind stayed racing. So you know what I did? I went on the Disney Youtube Channel and started singing various theme songs to shows I watched when I was younger. I went from Hannah Montana to the Jonas Brothers, That’s So Raven and Kim Possible. I was very impressed by my memory. I basically remembered each and every word, which is unexpected of me. My memory is WHACK!

I fell asleep at 4 a.m and it’s safe to say I blacked out! It’s been two days and I still haven’t fully recovered, but I’m getting there!

Through my recovery journey (I’m making it sound serious, because it is), I finished Tiffany Haddish’s book ‘The Last Black Unicorn’. I loved it! It was too hilarious, but showed me a different side of Tiffany. You may know Tiffany as the crazy friend from the movie ‘Girls’ Trip’. If you haven’t watched it, be sure to! It will crack you up! She’s been through a lot in life and covers everything in the book, but her humour stops you from feeling sad and makes you appreciate her come-up and success. I’m rooting for Tiffany! Plus she’s an African Sistah! Her dad’s Eritrean! Had to throw that in there.

I’m now reading Trevor Noah’s book ‘Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood’. I’m loving it so far and will get back to you when I’m done.

Would you like me to do book reviews? Let me know.

I shall end the post here and go watch Money Heist. I’m way too excited!!!

I watched the first episode of the last half of the last season (read that slowly) of How to get Away with Murder this morning. My heart is so hurt that the show is ending, but it’s done so well!! The Keating 5 are my friends and Annalise is basically my Aunty. If you haven’t watched this show, what have you been doing with your life?? Get on it this lock down season!

Anyways, I’ll talk (yes, talk) to you guys next week! Bella Ciao! Bella Ciao! Bella Ciao Ciao! Ciao! (My Money Heist people will get it. If you don’t, go watch it!)

Thanks for reading!

Don’t forget to follow!
